concert tickets
As you might have already noticed livetourdates.org is an affiliate of different international ticket selling services. I first started this because in a number of emails people asked me if I knew where to purchase tickets for this or that concert - so I thought listing ticket services might be a nice gadget for those willing to order their tickets online.
I have absolutely no influence neither on the ticket prices, nor on the availability of the tickets offered by the different services - the only thing I can do is link to the page listing the tickets once I find them. If one of the partnering services offers tickets for a distinct gig and if a link to that ticket service is available through the gig's detail page you will find an indicator [tickets] next to the listed gig.
When it's windy and/or raining outside sitting at home ordering your concert tickets online can be quite comfortable - but please note that it's of course not the only option! For various environmental and micro-economical reasons I do in the first place recommend buying your tickets as local as possible! In other words: support your local dealer!! Online shopping should be understood as an additional option to find rare stuff and buy things you can't find in your neighborhood - but your local dealer should always be you first choice. Only he knows you and your preferences - only he can give you personal instant feedback on questions like seating, parking, photo policy, when the doors will open, when what band will play, who the support act is - and who the main act etc..
Besides this concert tickets offered online sometimes seem to be not the cheapest choice. This often happens when a show is basically sold out, or only a few seats are left - rare goods have 'special' prices. To avoid paying too much I would recommend that after contacting your local dealer you should always first check the band's and the venue's homepage for ticket information. Only if that does not help you should concider ordering tickets from a thrid party ticket service..
That said I'd like to ask you to submit your favourite local record shop selling concert tickets, your local ticket booth, your neighbourhood box office - so that we can compile a comprehensive global list of local dealers..:] Listing is of course completely free of charge. On the other hand however I can not and will not guarantee the submitted info will be listed. Every sumbmission will be checked and reviewd and will only be listed if the provided information is found appropriate. Additionally I have to say that at the moment I don't even have the appropriate database up yet - but once submissions are submitted it will be in place.
